How do athletes access Gold training opportunities?
O’Sax Gold is accessed through a separate tryout process.
All athletes may register for tryouts when available.
Gold placement is dynamic and may change throughout the season based on readiness, commitment, and development. Athletes may move into — or out of — Gold as the season progresses.
Note: O’Sax Gold has a higher program cost than O’Sax Core.
How will communication work during the season?
The O’Saxman Beach Club uses TeamSnap One and social media for schedules, updates, and weather communication. Families are responsible for signing up for TeamSnap One and monitoring these platforms regularly, as well as indicating attendance. Club-wide communication will occur via TeamSnap One and email.
What are the expectations of athletes?
All athletes are expected to:
Arrive on time and prepared for each practice (we understand emergencies happen).
Display a positive attitude, strong effort, and coachability.
Treat coaches, staff, teammates, opponents, and facilities with respect.
Follow all coaching and safety instructions.
Inform your coaches of any injuries and/or concerns they should be aware of.
Represent O’Saxman Beach Club positively on and off the court.
What if athletes miss practice?
Perfect attendance is not mandatory but is essential for athlete development. Athletes and parents must indicate availability and absences in TeamSnap in advance.
Missed practices are not eligible for refunds. Practices cancelled by the club will be communicated and rescheduled.
Are athletes required to compete in tournaments?
No, participation in tournaments is optional but strongly recommended. We believe the more athletes compete, the more they develop their skills and game understanding. Athletes and/or parents are responsible for signing up, attending, and following all tournament rules and schedules.
Coaches and Program Leads can provide guidance and support as needed.
Will practices be cancelled for weather?
Practices may be delayed, modified, or cancelled due to weather or unsafe conditions. No practice happens under lightning, thunder, hail, snow, and AQHI smoke ratings of 6 or above.
Weather updates will be communicated via TeamSnap and social media as early as possible.
Please note: Weather-related cancellations do not guarantee make-up sessions.
What should athletes bring to practice?
Athletes should bring weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water. The facility does not yet have running water.
Can parents watch practices?
Yes. Parents are welcome to watch practices.
Are there weekends without practices for the Spring/Summer program?
